Canadian Youth Council

Good Day Everyone,

The Government of Canada has created a Prime Ministers Youth Council, and they are looking for applicants between the ages of 16-24.

We need to have UA Canada, Local 628, representation on this council. Youth, Apprenticeship and Diversity are key pieces that the Canadian Government has been focusing their initiatives upon.

If you are between the ages of 16 and 24, we highly encourage you to take the time to apply for the Prime Ministers Youth Council.
If you are not between the ages of 16-24, we would appreciate if you can pass this email request onto UA members that you believe would make a great representative.
We greatly appreciate your help and participation. Link to apply and description of the Youth Council is posted below.

The Prime Minister’s Youth Council is a group of young Canadians who provide non-partisan advice to the Prime Minister and the Government of Canada on issues of importance to them and to all Canadians. Youth Council members meet both online and in person several times a year to discuss issues that matter to their peers, their community, and their country. They interact with each other outside of meetings to discuss ideas and upcoming activities, and to talk with their peers about issues that matter most to them. There may also be opportunities to engage with local and national organizations, meet with policy makers and decision-makers like Cabinet Ministers, and attend public events.

Applying to the Prime Minister’s Youth Council is a three-step process. First, you will need to create a profile. Once you have successfully created your profile, you will need to apply for the opportunity, following which you will receive an email invitation to complete the application questionnaire.
