Employment

Newgold has the balance of our membership working as well as 40 plus travel cards. We are keeping our ear to the ground as far as any future prospects in the mining sector and will update when appropriate. Hopefully the spring/summer newsletter will have more concrete news as well as updates for future 628 activities.

UA Local 628 Election, 2016

As most of our members are aware, we are having a by-election for the remainder of this term which will be until December 31, 2017. All members will have the opportunity to vote at 2 locations. The first will be at the Emo Inn, for our members working at the New Gold site, and any other members in that area. The walk in voting times for that location will be from 2PM – 9PM on Saturday December 3rd. On Sunday December 4th walk in voting will also be held at the Union Hall from 3PM – 7PM. Please make every effort to come to one of those locations to cast your ballot.

If you have any questions regarding the balloting, please contact us at the Union Hall.

Mandatory Working at Heights Training

We have some more dates confirmed for the mandatory Working at Heights Training. The classes will be held Saturdays November 5th, 12th, and December 3rd. The classes will run here at the Union Hall from 8AM – 4PM. Contact me at the office if you would like to sign up for one of these classes.
